Victoria mill have crushed 93,000 tonnes with CCS of 11.3. As of
today, loading is restricted to one side with only 15 harvesters
cutting today and the expectation is that only 10,000 tonnes will
be cut. The mill have undertaken maintenance day on both sides at
Victoria mill during the wet weather interruption and will make a
call on Victoria operations tomorrow depending on rain and number
of harvesters available.
The
mill advised that they will be shutting down Macknade mill and
liquidate clarifiers as it is not expected it will be started in
the next few days. As of Friday morning Macknade Mill had crushed

morning at 8.30am and started emptying juice and shutting down.
Macknade Mill also had a blown large 750KW motor on injection

was changed out.

CANEGROWERS at State Parliament
|

CANEGROWERS
Chairman Owen Menkens and CEO Dan Galligan have met with several
government and opposition MPs at the Queensland Parliament.
Discussions about current industry issues and how CANEGROWERS
works with government were held with the Minister for
Agricultural Industry Development and Fisheries Mark Furner
and his departmental Director-General and Senior Policy advisors.
They also met with Sam O’Connor, Shadow Minister for
Environment and the Great Barrier Reef, and Tony Perrett,
Shadow Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.
The
CANEGROWERS pair also met with the Board of the Australian Sugar
Milling Council to discuss how the organisations could be working
together on implementing the sugar industry roadmap which is
under development and its associated initiatives. It was an
opportunity for Owen, being new to the Chairman role, to
establish some early principles regarding what priorities
CANEGROWERS will continue to pursue in his term. This included in
relation to trade and market access issues, environmental sustainability
and the profitability of growers.
