The last day for wages in the 2021/2022
financial year will be 5.00pm
Wednesday 29th June 2022.
Wages
received after 5.00pm Wednesday 29th June 2022 will go
into the next financial year.
Employees
will only need to complete paperwork if they are NEW or their
personal details have changed e.g. address, bank account details,
superannuation fund etc.
Lodgement of Wages
as of 1st July 2022
Employers will be required to submit wages
details by email
hbrpayroll@canegrowers.com.au
or alternatively a permanent file can be arranged.
All information must be supplied for
wages: Employee full name, dates or week when work was
performed, rate of payment, number of hours worked or tonnage as
applicable.
Office
staff will reply by email to advise that wages details have been
received.
Taking
wages details over the phone has been found to result in errors
and there is no ability to confirm the information given as it
was supplied verbally and not in writing.
Superannuation
changes and removal of Record only payments as of 1st
July 2022
As
of 1st July 2022 the threshold of $450 per month for
payment of superannuation has been removed and superannuation of
10.5% will be applicable to all wages.
Superannuation
rises from 10% to 10.5% as of 1st July
2022.
As of 1st July Record only wages which were done previously will
no longer be undertaken. The changes to superannuation
rules and the requirement by our payroll staff to manually
manipulate bank files is time consuming and subject to errors.
Record
only payments can only be undertaken for persons under 18 years
of age provided they are ineligible for superannuation (work less
than 30 hours per week).
Piecework
Agreements if applicable (tonnage x cents) will need to be
lodged with the office fully completed and signed by both parties
(Employer & Employee) prior to wages being paid.
Piecework
employees should be paid for all tonnages during the period work
took place.
Employees
working on hourly rates should be paid overtime in the period it
is worked.
ATO
now receives more extensive payroll information for each
employer/employee via STP Phase 2 than previously.
