CANEGROWERS Queensland

a stronger voice for queensland cane growers

Queensland Cane Growers Organisation

The Queensland Cane Growers Organisation (QCGO) is the state-wide representative body for Queensland’s sugarcane growers. Working alongside local CANEGROWERS district organisations, QCGO represents the interests of growers at a state and national level.

United We Stand

When you become a member of CANEGROWERS Herbert River, you are also part of the Queensland Cane Growers Organisation (QCGO), giving you representation at both a local and state level.

CANEGROWERS Herbert River provides local representation and support, focused on the issues affecting growers in our district. QCGO takes that grower voice to the state and national level, advocating on broader issues including government policy, regulation, industry economics, productivity, environmental management, transport and workforce matters.

Together, this local and statewide model ensures growers have a strong voice on the issues that matter; from what is happening in our district to the decisions being made across Queensland and beyond.

Who We Are

QCGO Team & Leadership

The senior management team is based in the Brisbane office which also provides accounting, communications and IT support to the district CANEGROWERS companies.

Policy Council & Board

CANEGROWERS members are represented by elected directors in every sugarcane region of Queensland. Each grower-elected district board nominates representatives to sit on the 18-person Policy Council, which decides the overall strategic direction of CANEGROWERS.

Policy Council members also elect the eight-member QCGO Board, which is responsible for corporate governance.

Regional Offices

In addition to our office based in Herbert River, there are 11 other regional offices located throughout Queensland.
